Traveling out of state for weddings has become quite common for me at this stage of my business. And remember I live in the desert, right? So let me just say right now- I LOVE GREEN! AND WOW THE GREEN AT THIS WEDDING WAS SO UNREAL! Between the gorgeous florals, and the polo grounds and vineyards at the reception venue, King Family Vineyard, I WAS OBSESSED. And the cherry on top – it was such a glorious summer day for a wedding. Okay, thank you, that’s all I will say about that.
NOW about Lauren and Carson. I mean, I just love them. They are a few of the brightest gems I have ever met. And the two of them together -my goodness, just an EXPLOSION of love and kindness.
One of the things I really want to make known about Lauren and Carson is that they are BOTH active navy pilots. They are sacrificing SO MUCH to serve our country. I want to take this space to thank them for their service, and the service of the many friends/family who were in attendance at their wedding (and those who perhaps couldn’t make it because of their service).
As is no surprise, the planning of their wedding was met with a large amount of uncertainty. Unfortunately, Carson was deployed for the majority of this season. So while he would have loved to be a part of the planning process, Lauren ended up having to make a lot of decisions on her own. (BUT not without the help of one of my FAVE gals, Avery at Cana Wedding Co.).
Despite the level of military unknowns, the wedding took place as planned and went off without a hitch! And what a glorious day it was.
From the moment I arrived at the rehearsal at St. Thomas Aquinas in Charlottesville, I could see the amount of love, intention, and prayer that was being put into every element of their wedding. Starting with the hour of adoration prior to their rehearsal, to the Holy Prayer Cards at every place setting, to the intentional conversations they had with as many of their guests as possible. Lauren and Carson clearly know what it means to love unconditionally, and to give all glory to God.
One of my favorite elements of their wedding day was the way they introduced their bridal party. They didn’t simply have each of their names read off by the band. Nope! The two of them stood up and took turns introducing each of their bridesmaids and groomsmen with a mini love letter. They shared why they love them, what they mean to them, and how they’ve impacted their lives. Needless to say, I bawled my eyes out.
These two love SO hard, and every person there clearly loved them SO MUCH. As much as this day was about the two of them and their union under God, they treated each person present as if it was about THEM. Even how they interacted with ME and the other vendors was with such joy and care, in a way I’ve never experienced before.
Bottom line, the love was palpable and infectious!
I could go on for days about Lauren and Carson, but instead I’ll let y’all go through these photos and see for yourself. Please pray for them and their marriage!
